True Street ceased operations?

Saturday, July 31st:
PER TRUE STREET FOUNDER, BECKY WARDLOW:
True Street Drag Racing, Inc. has ceased operations effective today, Monday, July 26, 2010. We thank all the racers, tracks and sponsors who supported the series the past two years. Unfortunately, there are many reasons why True Street is closing it’s doors. If you would like to discuss the reason(s) with me feel free to contact me directly. – Becky Wardlow

Great Lakes Dragaway is currently working out what to replace this Saturday's True Street event. We appologize for the extremely sudden and short notice, however True Street is a 3rd party that ran their event at our track.
There are many rumors spreading thruout the internet and "through the grape vine" about other people taking over or running True Street... if anything concrete happens, the final word will be posted right here on the GLD website.

My personal opinion, not issuing payouts at the gate was the death of this organization. I attended the last one, it was a great format with great people, and we had a blast. You just cant mess with people's money in these times. When people are waitng 6+ weeks to get paid for winning, they start complaining and they start talking. I hope they re-concider and work things out, I personally think this had alot of potential.

That is very true Joe. I talked to E last night and they said the Grove will still hold the event on Saturday. She didnt know the full details about everything like payouts but it will be still happening.

Well said! been racing 24 yrs in so many different classes it would be a long list and I've never expereinced anything like this. But I don't think it's just in these times, I would feel the same way if this happened 15 yrs ago. I know our group would have never attened another one of these races even if it was at a track 10 miles from us like cedarfalls, unless we could have waited a couple months to pay our entry fee after the race!

The grove is running the race this weekend...100% payout and its cash that night!! I'll be there with my crew~

Indy for me. I was 100% dedicated to supporting True Street and was planning on going there, but now I have to show Brian some love and try to make this Indy race a success. With the way things are going, we need a few positive events to go off to get things moving in the right direction.

Well, with all that being said and things to be put in the past. I am going to be running the BIKE SIDE of the event/events to come at GLD!

NO, It will not have anything to do with TRUE STREET!

Everything that has happened has me scrabbling to get something back for US BIKE GUYS at GLD! This is no easy task with all that has happened! Please, dont run away and understand I am working with what I can to get things back in a working order with all the TRUST issues that have come with this whole issue.

Again, there is a race this July 31st and hope to see all that can show up! Please hit me up if you have any questions or comments!!!

Payouts, Fees and Classes are being worked out as we go along...Payouts will be given at the END OF THE EVENT!!!

Yeah I hear you on that. With all the uncertanty I am not sue I am going to go. Escpecially if no other 8.90 guys are gonna go. Dont wanna race 1 round and thats it. If like to get back on the track with that bike before the end of August, but its not looking good. Besides i have a race down at 66 on Sunday and that would be a pain going from one place to the next.

Really payouts at the end of the event, who would of ever guessed that would work!
