DreamRyder loses in Finals against Joey Peters at 2WheelSpeed Shootout Series June 27!
Another day at the track.. Bryon Dragway that is... for 2Wheel Speeds Shootout series..
It was a NASTY HUMID HOT DAY with only a slight breeze and no clouds in site... we were all dying of the heat.
Track was NOT it's usual condition. There were patches of cement showing through and shoes weren't even stickin to the surface when trying to fine a spot to line up. BUT we were there to race and race we were gonna do.
My first qualifyng pass felt like a good clean run however I jumped the tree when the rider next to me jumped before the lights changed so badly that the timing had not even started. So neither of us got times. Now to show you how good these people are... they didn't have to allow us to run again - not at all... but they did. After everyone in the Shootout had made their pass they called us back to make another run.
This time I think we both took our times at the tree to make sure we didn't screw up such a wonderful gift they gave us. My RT was .4 and his was a .3 This run however was nothing like my first... My bike never made it past 9K on the tach and felt like a pig the entire run.
Got back to the pits and quickly downloaded my log - wondering if the Air Fuel had somehow gotten screwed up.. what I found was a surprise to me... looking at the boost readings I had just made an 8.00 pass on just the gate.. boost never increased that pass. SO next step I looked at my AMS to see if my program got cleared out for what ever reason.. as soon as the display powered up and error message came up " something about no signal from the boost sensor" Read this out loud to Nem and he right away had an idea what it was and told me to take the side panel off.. Once I did he found a wire broke loose from the connector/pigtail for ams pressure sensor.
Nem went right to trying to fix it so I would not miss out on the next round or the rest of the weekend racing for that matter.
After a few attemps of this or that he got it working and Wa-la my AMS worked again. THANK YOU NEM !!!!
Next Qualifier run was much better I had boost! BUT the poor track conditions couldn't hold it and it was a spinnin ride all the way down.
I managed to be # 1 Qualifier for Sat and made round after round to the finals where I lined up with Joey Peters on his slick slider NOS bike... even he was spinnin this day... he's always good on the tree and I knew I had to be too. I was the only one who managed to get in the 7's Sat rest of the times it was 8.0's so it was going to be a close race. We both left with almost identical RT but as my bike spun then caught traction the front came up and I somehow managed to pull something on my left side that took my breath away and before I got the bike back straight and in control he was down track and I just got off it. Didnt' think I'd be able to run him down and didn't wanna fry my clutch in trying to do so knowing I needed to race Sunday with it. However after the pass when I saw he had ran only an 8.13 I wish I had tried.. and vouged on Sunday I would not give up on any pass
Thanks Nem for fixin my problem with the sensor - I know it's tough because you have your own stuff to work on between rounds too. Means ALOT for you to take the time to help keep my bike going.
Thank you out to my daughters as well for being our umbrella girls and camera crew
THanks Buz & John for the help in the pits when I needed a hand movin the bike or what not.
Thanks Matt @ CycleTek and Eric @ Rev'd Up Motorsports for helpin at the line from time to time.
Sunday's results to follow in it's own thread and pictures and videos to get updated as well when can.
