I see a lot of JR dragsters that run a lot faster in the 1/8 then most street cars. And the JR comp is for 14 and up

Not kids in the ones with the bike motors. AMA Prostar actually lets them run in Indy every year because there is a company there that builds the funny cars for the bike motors. 180 inch is the norm for these and a frame is around 1700. The price goes from there depending what you want done to it. I just sold my funny car about 6 months ago on here. The dragsters are NHRA legal to run up to 7.60 in the 1/4 mile. There is a shop in Ohio building them every day for whatever motor you want in it. Check out UMDRA.com and see a whole league for them.

Hello! Thanks for noticing the Jr Comp cars!

Jr Comp is a extension of NHRA's Jr Dragster Program for teens 14-20 years old. Jr Comp cars run on a Heads Up. Pro Tree 6.90 1/8th Mile index.
For Power, Jr Comp Cars use Motorcycle, Snowmobile or industrial engines up to 4 cylinders, must be a naturally aspirated 4 stroke engine.
These cars are also legal for 1/4 mile competition in NHRA's Bracket classes for any one 16 years and older. Parents can share this car with their kid, older younger siblings, what ever works.
In 6.90 1/8th mile trim, most of these cars are capable of running low 11's High 10's in the 1/4 mile, Low 10's High 9's at low elevation tracks

But there is no reason this type of car can not be raced strictly as a quarter mile car..... there several mini dragsters that run very low 8's and there is a claim that one car before being converted to a Jr Comp car had run some 7.80's, turbo GS motor.

I have been involved with these cars for several years if any body would like more info, has any questions, feel free to ask and/or e-mail!

By the way, the $1600 135 mph jr comp car....not a real Jr Comp

There is an ex jr dragster champion here in Australia that has just started one of these, using a stock Gen 2 and a chassis he built( a modified jr dragster), has already run mid 9's and they have alot of development left in it, They have just put a hays clutch in it and I'm trying to talk them into putting on an air shift. There future plans are a turbo and low 7's...

There's another guy here in OZ, his kids run a JD and wants to upgrade to Comp, he says he'll be importing a chasis from the US and wants me to build him a Turbo achol busa motor for it......I suggested we start with a NA busa motor first and see how things go first

We'll see how long it takes to ban them here! eh Rowan.
