Re: stock bore hp numbers???
No just cams and 25 thousands shaved off the head to raise to compression. Stock pistons. I only put pistons in this year

No I understand that.. But to me if your dropping in pistons anyway, just bore it for a lil more... That stage 4 head with 2 mill bore ran great with nice power... Ran 8:80's all day at 64 1/2 fully dressed with a 175 pound rider...
No matter what happens in the race, I'll still have my flawless mustache!!!!!

Agreed.....if you are replacing pistons, then you might as well spend the extra $650 and get it bored and plated.
That being said....I still wouldn't run a big valve head on anything less than an 1070cc motor..

Re: stock bore hp numbers???
KWS Motorsports
"Our 08 AMA Superbike standard bore/stroke made over 200hp....and we regularly build replicas for customers....within a reasonable budget. With no budget limitations, 220hp from standard bore/stroke is done all the time at a factory level.
That being said, it is much easier/cheaper/reliable to make the power with displacement.
I have about 30 of them running around in various series this year"
solow1k
"ppl get 180+ out of 07+'s with head/cams only. build it right with high compression and 200ish is possible imo."

**OK NOW THIS SOUNDS LIKE A CONSIRDICKTIONS**
ALL-BLACK-1000
"This guy I know said he put down 195 with je pistons and some yosh cams stock head do you think that is possible... same bike 04 gsxr"
KWS Motorsports
"No chance...."
solow1k
"Most likely false"
What I'm I not understanding Here?
It sounds like you guys are saying that you can make 200 and over with a standard bore and stock 1000 but then you don't believe someone is making 195 with just JE's and head and cam package....

I can make a standard bore/stroke 07-08 GSXR1000 motor make 200hp, but it takes subsantial modifications.
An 04 with head/cams and pop JE's will not make 195hp.

Re: stock bore hp numbers???
i had an 06 gsxr 1000 before it was stolen 13.5/1 pistons, .020 off the head schnitz springs, carpenter .397intake/.358exhaust, lazer porting comp. ported and polished reworked head with stock diam. valves plus all the other bolt on goodies flat pan, sidewinder, secondaries flies removed, fuel pressure upped, bmc filter, oil pump gear, ceramic trans bearings, under cut trans running mr9 had it dynoed at two shops in two diff. areas one shop bike made 190, 194, 195 at the other the bike made 198, 201, 202 it is possible but dyno numbers dont mean anything at the track build for your desired et.

Re: stock bore hp numbers???
superman1k I believe that but ur head flows so much better then the 03-04 heads before you had it ported and polished thats why KWS is sayin that he dont believe that an 04 with just cams and high comp. pistons can make 195

Re: stock bore hp numbers???
yes but you need a custom mount for 1 of the side head mount and would need everything tach, ecu, and throttle bodys

Re: stock bore hp numbers???
What pistons, (brand and compression ratio) should I go with on an 08 GSXR 1K with a head that has been milled .020 and will also see an occasional 40 hp dry shot of nitrous? This will be a street/strip bike.
