I don't know what a "Stage 4 Lee's Head" but if you are staying with standard bore and stroke then you want to stay with standard diameter valves, a smaller port, and smaller cams. Big valves, huge ports, and big cams will make the motor gut-less in the middle.
Pistons will be detirmined by how much you want to spray....

Re: stock bore hp numbers???
so should I just stick with stock head and just have it ported and some good spring's and retaners with some good cams and coated pistons

No. A well ported head and cams package would be very beneficial......but a huge grudge head mean for a 1240 +cc motor would be a waste of $$

Re: stock bore hp numbers???
Ok I guess I will post. I had my bike built by a local builder. Its a 06 1k with weisco 13-5-1 pistons, chucks at rc performance cam package with heavy duty valve spring, ward performance ported and polished head, pc3, slip on akrapovic exhaust, tre, and the heas was shaved 20 thousands for heigher compresion, no rods yet. My bike made 186 at the builders dyno. I took it to another dyno and made 168. I run two twin V foggers in the air ducts on the air box side with two 22 NOS jets and my bike made 200 on spray. So I guess I don't know which dyno to belive but I hope this helps you a little. I thought my numbers would e in the mid 170 but the bike runs good so I don't know what to say. Good luck with your build as for telling the builders what numers you want to run well that all falls on your riding ability and style.

Numbers seem low to me, especially with the ward head. Id try another dyno just to check it out again. Also MPH is a better indication of hp then a dyno number to me. So if it runs good rock it!

Re: stock bore hp numbers???
Doing a small valve head to me is like buy'n a 600.. Sooner than later your want to go bigger and now it will cost double to triple to do it all again.IMO
No matter what happens in the race, I'll still have my flawless mustache!!!!!

Unfortunately physics gets in the way of economics.....If you put a big valve head on a small displacement motor then you will not be able to maintain port velocity and the bike will be slug..
Bigger is not always better....
