zx10r cam timing

This is a discussion about zx10r cam timing within the 1000's section, where you will 1 Liter Bike Talk for.... Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha; I bought a 05 zx10 r motor for my 636 and I dont think its timed right I counted 29 pins from line to line it looks like it should be 30 can someone help.

    Get a degree wheel & forget about pin count.

    Its 28
    If your starting with the pin lined up with the ex mark & using it as # 1 you will get 29

    Thanks that what my 636 was 28 .This is my first 10 motor and thats the way it was when I bought it glad I took it apart before I install it.

    I got an 04 636 as my street bike and then a gsxr 1000 for a drag bike.... I have never even thought about a zx10 motor in it.... You have sparked my interest. How hard is that swap going to be? Sounds very cool tho. Please keep us updated.

    I havent put it in yet I am putting new rings and heavy duty valve springs port and polish head. Hopefully next week all my parts will be here. I will let you know and take pics.

    i already did that swap a couple years ago. your gonna have to cut the bike almost in half. i still have my frame...lol
