jblankenship posted this in another thread check out the cams listed

    For 5 grand I would:

    RC's 1070 nitrous pistons $650
    carrillo a beams $650
stock head with hd valve springs and 03-04 1000 intake cam on the exhaust side, adj cam sprockets $400
    head studs and nuts $150
    new head gasket $90
    Bearing set $180
    Lower girdle $100
    cylinder bore and replate $600
    manual cam chain tensioner $50
    flat oil pan $250
    Slider clutch $1000
    Side winder $750

    total $4870

Of course that's putting it together yourself. That is my exact motor combination. It's no secret and I weigh 195 unsuited. Everyone saw me go 8.14 @ 167 at grudgement day 1 so no hiding the numbers.

Nitrous set-up is nothing more than than 2 pc3's on c16 fuel with gixx1300r spraybar, 2.5 lb bottle, nos solenoid, NO purge, nos mini, and a pressure gauge.

Chassis is internally lowered forks 3", still strapped, NO offset clamps, NO shortneck, Stock gen 1 busa shock, RC's performance flat link, 70" wheel base.

Stock gas tank, stock upper, stock fairings, +6 super sport tail, stock subframe. Stock battery in stock location also. Full cooling and charging system except cut radiator.

So no it's not hard, just how bad you want it. And this motor is very reliable.

    Best of luck

yep you can use an 03-04 1000 intake cam on the exhaust side or an 01-03 750 intake cam on the exhaust side. Good for 3-4 hp. Putting the 750 cam in one right now, I also ported the head myself, and sending it out to be milled. Should pick up about 15 hp.

I don't think you will see a difference either way. But the 03-04 1000 cam works well with spray.

I just an 02 1000 intake cam in my 06 1000 and a thin head gasket and it picked up 8hp, but lost a little mid range. If I was to do again, I would just leave the stk cams in it, but thats just my opinion!!

hey the bike that j is talking about with the ported head and 04 750 cam in is mine. this thing hopefully will fly when were done. if ur going to spray run the 1000 cam, if motor only use the 750 cam. we know how to spray ,thats for sure. but were tring to get all motor power out of my bike. we will see. getting head milled , blakenship racing engines did the port job, new 750 valve springs, and installing 06 1000 wheels all at same time. looking for 15-20 hp. maybe 2-3 tenths with everything , we will see. see yall at vmp bike bash.

will see what it does, I just finished doing my busa head and david's 1000 head at the same time. Just sent out to be milled. We may still spray it, but we'll see. David meant an 03 750 cam.

we only went .012" on this head and staying with oem head gasket. It will be around .5 more compression. You will see around 1 point.
