06 1k motor mount bolt

Have a question, I have a 06 1k frame that has the very top motor mount closest to the neck on the brake/exhaust side damaged. Half of the pinch part is broke off. I'm gonna have a aluminum welder tig it back up but will this hurt anything or not be still strong to mount a motor in?

Motor is gonna be 06 head and 02 cases goin in it. I noticed Eddie cane and a couple other grudge 1k's actually have the whole section cut off their frame and aren't even using this bolt at all, probly to lighten up the frame. Any input appreciated

You'll be fine you have the all the other bolts holding it in! Sure in a perfect world it should be right, but who lives in a perfect world..

Had the exact situation on a friends 05 1k,the frame slider broke the tab off. I TIG welded it back on with no issues and hes been fine for the last 2yrs

Cool do you still use the pinch part or do you just run the bolt to avoid causing stress on the weld?

I was able to get good penetration on both sides of the weld so we used both bolts&the pinch bolt is cranked down nice&tight. Guess it depends on how good its able to be welded.

With the 02 block that bolt wont line up anhway...

That's what I thought but I heard that bolt only doesn't line up when you have the 07 frame. I had it tig welded but it doesn't look good to me. I just told my powdercoat guy to grind it down smooth before he powder coats it.

01=06 have 1 upper on cases on rear of cyls
and is in same location 01-08
07-8 upper front is in different location as it is on cases not head as 01-06

if ur talkin on the upper front mount
that bolts to the head
its ur call if u want it ,,,,,,
i dont never ues the front upper for drag racin only
saves weight to cut out
then 07 frame with 01-06 block its not there
07 head on 01-06 frame its not there
