easy question

This is a discussion about easy question within the 1000's section, where you will 1 Liter Bike Talk for.... Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha; is the 01-02 stator cover the same as the 03-04? basically can i put an 03 stator cover on an 02 engine?

    Cross reference the part numbers on one of the suzuki oe parts sites to be sure but I believe they will cross...

    They both don't have the same father so they won't work ..

    ya i did a part number check and they didnt so thats why i was asking. so i guess i need specifically an 01-02 stator cover.

    750 and 600 covers from 01-02 MAY.. work. going to have to look into that also.

    the 01-02 cover will not work on the 03-04. 03-04 has the holes bored through the bottom of the cylinder case for less pumping losses. where the hole is bored would be on the case cover sealing surface on the 01-02. so they made the case cover sealing surface go around the cross drilled bore on the 03-04.

    well i guess to make it easy, ill just find an 01-02 cover. anyone got one? tihnking about this, also has anyone ever sealed up the oiling hole to the stator? i have no stator behind my cover so i see no point sending oil over there.

    01/02 750 stator covers will work for sure. used them many times
    I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6!

    new question,

    are 01-08 clutch outer baskets inner changeable? looking to put an 05-06 basket in my 01-02 motor.
