Bike is old-school but has a 32 bit ECU, which is a huge improvement over the 01-02s. Plenty of torque. A fun ride for not alot of money, nothing wrong with them at all.

It's cuz I hear a lot of people down here where I live say its a crappy year to build. That the motors are weak and don't take abuse.... That's what I hear. That its the worst Gixxer ever. So the guys say. So I'm a little nervous about getting it. Cuz I'd want to drag it out.

Well the 03-04 cases are only weaker then the 01-02. The only draw back to the 04 is the head isn't as good as the newer bikes. Are you trying to be the fastest guy at the track or just get to the track and have fun?

Well my 04 with STOCK motor, Full hindle exhaust, 40 shot with a tune and geared went 9.0's with a 240lbs rider running out of gear just after the 1000' mark cause it was gear'd for my fat ass at 315lbs. Me on motor at 64" cutting 1.75 60's went 6.8's in the 1/8th never ran it on NOS and couldnt trap over 124 cause I didn't have full leathers but still ran 10.9's letting out at the 1000' mark et racing lol. I pissed off a few cars that day.

I have an 03 with a stock bottom end and just ran a best of 6.1 in the 8th and I weigh 230lbs. Gearing is -2/+3, I was just told by someone that with a few more teeth in the rear and shock set up for me I can run some 5.9's pretty easy.

Get the bike if the price is right, it's a good bike!!!
